So first we had Bonnie tickle Florida's armpit... while Charlie crept up from the west, and surprised those in punta gorda?... then from the east mammoth Frances confused, awed, and finally pissed off and severely annoyed all Floridians from the keys to pensecola... Since parts of Florida had not experienced the full impact of a hurricane yet, mother nature is sending us Ivan the Terrible from the south... getting him to rake the state from south to north...
who knows mabye the panhandle will recieve a hurricane too so that they can be considered for a direct landfall... They still have the Gulf season to contend with! Then Florida will be complete!
If this continues for the years to come following the pattern from the 30-50's in south florida... i can forsee many people moving away. I'm here to stay... you hear me mother nature. I'm going NO-WHERE haha
Mabye mother nature is trying to get us out of her delicate garden? (Everglades, coastal dunes)
I need sleep...

Eric,
I think I know where your head is, right now.
I cannot fathom a "double strength" Charley.
With the weirdness of Frances, I fear that a huge number that eveacuated will not do so next time.
And... when you're in the middle of the state, where do you go?
Puhleeeze, does anyone really think that someone will have to "turn off the lights on the way out?"
Alright, I'll go to bed tonight, but come friday, all bets are off.

The lack of sleep, and the new data is what is messing with me i think. I think most of us are in the same twisted position.
Imagine if this were to take a sweep straight up over FL... or even worse:
Landfall over south dade county, heading north through broward and west palm. Miami, Ft. Lauderdal, Boca, Boyton... all gone! lol
Its not really funny though

You're killing me, here, buddy.
At it's current rate, east or west....
the middle of FL is a great big bullseye.
I just don't see anyone leaving from the middle of the state..
Now, I will give BIG kudos to some people, as about 25% left for areas a bit further north of Frances' path.
Should I stay or should I go????
I have pets, only 1 potentially dangerous tree in my yard.
But, my Mom has 2 greyhounds and 2 cockatoos, and 3 very dangerous trees in her radius.
This stinks! Twice in the NE quadrant looking down the barrel of a bigger shotgun.
