This is the general tropical discussion area. Anyone can take their shot at predicting a storms path.

Fish or East Coast?

#1 Postby wolfmmiii » Thu Sep 09, 2004 3:59 am

I'm a computer guy, not a met so pardon the dumb question. Looking at the last cone from the NHC, it looks like Ivan will make a turn. Additionally, the track moved eastward a bit. That being said, what are the chances of this storm turning out to sea, vs hitting FLA vs riding the east coast?

It isn't a fish to begin with. It has battered the Caribbean.

I guess I should rephrase. Instead of using "fish", I should have just said turning out to sea.

The last couple of frames look even a bit north of NW. This from a storm that 7 hours ago was heading due west. Pretty dramatic shift north. My OPINION is that it will miss the US.

breb, didn't you already start your own post with your OPINION based on an IR loop? we hear you loud and clear... but it's probably not going to happen, regardless of how many times your repeat it.
