"Not sure of what you were looking at but I have seen no turn to the NW"

I'm looking at THIS:

http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/PS/TROP/DATA/RT ... -loop.html

Either I'm living in some alternate universe or that is AT LEAST NW and the last couple of frames look a little north of that.

Bad and good news about Ivan 5am update.

#1868 Postby Stormcenter » Thu Sep 09, 2004 5:52 am

The bad news about Ivan is that AGAIN they have the track over Florida and GOOD news is that it keeps on shifting eastward with EVERY run.
The entire GOM looks to be o.k. except for S.Florida. Hopefully this eastward shift WILL continue and continue.

Now again we are talking 5 days out ALOT can and will probably change.

What's he trying say there? Is he going to increase the official winds? Or what? What does 210mph at 350 ft, transfer to at the surface.

Let's hope he meets some shear before he continues his trek across Jamaica and Cuba. This would be devastating to these islands.

local channels here in the 6:30 a forecast made mention of the 210mph recon...however....2 staions have the storm planted near or over Tampa Bay for landfall, while 2 others have the landfall closer to the Key's the straight up the state towards Orlando....

Any idea why the discrepency in landfall when they all should have the same data...and oh yeah, I keep tauting our local NBC channel 8 with consistently having the beast and most accurate forecaster in the region (Jarvey), but this is the station that is holding tight to the Tampa area as a target....

Any ideas?
