A quick question from one still learning in the ways of the force, what does extrap 916MB mean. Does extrap mean extrapolated? If so, extrapolated from what?

I am guessing extrapolated is info they get from dropsondes.. but I believe I am wrong.

Pressure is recorded above the surface then calculated to indicate pressure at sea level. When TCs bomb they always try to fix the exact SLP but extra is frequently used.
