Left One Historical One Out . . .
September 12 1979 . . . Frederic into Mobile, AL . . . Cat 3
Major Damage.
I was 19 at the time, and it was awful. No power for 3-4 weeks, No water for 3 weeks, National Guard Curfew for 3 weeks.
Pretty historical if you ask me

Only problem with this thinking is that all that affected the SE looks to have went North of Jamaica and thru Eastern Cuba, I'm not seeing that happening.

Well, not quite every storm. That's "only" the cat 3,4,5 hurricanes in Septembers of years past. And it appears the map's been updated as at least two or three are shown hitting from Georgia to North Carolina.
I guess it's good (and fun) to look at historic trends, but more important to look at the current big weather picture.
