flooding all the way to us 19 from tampa bay? that is awfully frightening!

what exactly would be the factors that contribute to the max flood?

for instance charley (thankfully) did not have quite the surge that was expected...i was hoping someone might be able to enlighten me on what contributes to the max surge

From what I remember during Charley coverage, the city of St. Petersburg would be on an island after a Cat 4 went through!

We studied this when I was attending St. Pete Junior College in the early 90's. Worst case: CAT4-5 makes landfall at St. Pete or a little north. Hurricane force winds shove the Gulf waters into the Bay which is shaped like a funnel. I think it is important people to know the risk.
