1964 Florida Tropical Season Much Like Now

#1 Postby canegrl04 » Thu Sep 09, 2004 8:54 am

The 1964 hurricane season is of special note because 3 names were retired.-Cleo,Dora,and Hilda

Cleo cause tremedous loss of life as she made her way thru the Carribean and eventual landfall over Miami.

Hurricane Dora was the first hurricane to make landfall in NE Florida

And a tropical storm did damage after hitting Jacksonville

I don't think 3 hurricanes have ever hit Florida in the same season.Ivan would make it a first

Then let us pray that we do not see a repeat of 1964 where 3 hurricanes hit Florida.
