The wind field has gotten bigger too in terms of tropical storm force winds that go up to 175 miles. Hurricane force winds only go out to 35 miles that that is good news.

Yeah nothing to stop his outflow froming spreading. I expect this to become a cat5 before making landfall on Jamica!

Just looking at the first and last images of that loop, it sure looks like Ivan is making a dead beeline aim at Kingston Jamaica. Let's hope he veers a little left or right, because for Jamaica, Kingston getting a direct hit would be like NYC for the USA.

It is a huge storm and growing...this could totally wipe out Jamaica, IMO. A category 5 barreling over that little island will be just unbelievable destruction. Thankfully, in Jamaica, there are plenty of modern structures that should be able to withstand this storm, however, the locals there could be in some serious trouble. Hopefully, the government there will get as many as possible into sturdy evacuation centers.
