2 silly questions..
I just have a couple questions for you guys..
1. What the heck is a "No Wake" Zone.. I saw a neighbor post a sign like that in his flooded neighborhood
and 2.
Is there anywhere I can get 1 of those hurricane flags..? The ones with the big red square with the black square in the middle..?
Just curious

Any flag shop should have one.

StrongWind- yeah. I've seen it put out in people's front yards once or twice when road flooding was particularily bad... since I was slushing it out on foot I got a chance to see better- the water was pretty much on his doorstep- and every little wake (even my walking) was bringing water just over the doorstop and onto his carpet.
Sometimes you can only get your things up so high out of the water- and goons come by creating a wake and it gets to them. I wish I'd had a sign to hold up requesting no wake when I was stuck on a freeway offramp with water up to the rims of my front tires- and 2 inches below my tailpipe in the back. (It was a dry spot when I stopped- the water rose to there) Every little wake of every holier than thou SUV who thought they could make it through the 2 foot flooding at the intersection (and inevitably died somewhere on the other side like beached fish) brought me that much closer to a flood out of my mustang. Ugh. I hate wake.

In many ways, a "No Wake" sign situation in your front yard isn't funny...but I guess these days, humor is the best medicine...
A wake is caused by the displacement of a moving vessel: Deep draft displacement hull = huge wake; planing hull or flats boat = minimal wake. Speed varies depending on the boat hull shape, etc.
I don't know how it works with cars...lol...can't help it...but in a boat, you're "responsible for your wake." I've seen boat owners have to pay up for damages caused by excessive wake damage.
Wake Zones are established and enforced by the state, so in FL, contact your local FWCC field office.
But in Kiss./St. Cloud????
