Warmer Sea Surface Temps Ahead, Ramping Up Again

Ivan has just entered an area of warmer temps that will get even warmer all the way to the Cuban coast. And, it now looks as though Ivan's eye will stay over water and skirt the south coast of Jamaica and not cross the island. This should allow the new cycle in deepening to continue. Also, shear seems to be diminishing. Looks like he is ready to ramp up again.

Where are you seeing that it's going to miss Jamaica? Still looks very much like a direct hit to me, as of 4pm AST.

Take a ruler and run it along the top end of northern side of the eye wall in a time lapse infrared view of the storm. Project out. You will see that the eye should barely miss the southern coast.

Jamica is still going to bet hammared as they'll be in the right front quad of the storm. So even if the eye barely misses the coast it's still not going to be a good situation for the island.
