John Kerry Says US Needs its Own 'Regime Change'

#1 Postby southerngale » Thu Apr 03, 2003 11:50 am

Senator John F. Kerry said yesterday that President Bush committed a ''breach of trust'' in the eyes of many United Nations members by going to war with Iraq, creating a diplomatic chasm that will not be bridged as long as Bush remains in office.

''What we need now is not just a regime change in Saddam Hussein and Iraq, but we need a regime change in the United States,'' Kerry said in a speech at the Peterborough Town Library.

Despite pledging two weeks ago to cool his criticism of the administration once war began, Kerry unleashed a barrage of criticism as US troops fought within 25 miles of Baghdad.

Regardless of his political affiliation, Senator Kerry's comments are horrible. He should not be allowed to hold any type of political office.

Yeah, I'd have to agree with that. Now is not the time or place to say such things. I agree that we've damaged our relationaships with some of our allies, good or bad, but if the man had promised to cool his criticism once the war began and then started right back up, then what other pledges would he not keep later on?

The Democrats need to get their act together if they want to have a chance of gaining anything in this next election.

His comments were in poor taste to say the least! Makes it easy to decide who I don't want running the country!

I agree. I can't imagine that even the Democrats would want him running the country.

Stephanie's right...the Democrats don't have a good candidate right now to face Bush.

They would stand a much better chance if they would show more support for our current President and our troops and quit looking for reasons to lash out and bash the administration. I don't think the American people want that right now.

You know its going bad for them when Liberals start agreeing with the Conservatives. Even the squinty eyed Alan Colmes is breaking down.

Welcome aboard Steph!

John Kerry, who is running for President, has starting going backwards to the White HOuse instead of going forward. That was a bad speech.

Gee, thanks j!!!

I try to be fair in my opinions and posts. The Democrats have too many hands in the pot and no one person to rally around. They haven't had it since Clinton, pure and simple.

John Kerry has just proven, beyond a shadow of a doubt, that he would have to stand on Ted Kennedy's and Hillary Rodham Clinton's shoulders to kiss G.W.'s @$$.
