Acronym Definition

At the NRL site, on their projected track map is a box on the right side that has names of places and miles. What does the acronym CPA mean and what do the mileages represent? Thanks ahead of time.

CPA = closest point of approach

The miles *could* be how close - in miles - it will be?

I'm sure about the first, not sure about the second.

Thanks. I was straining my brain (after working with thousands of acronyms every day) and I just couldnt come up with something close. So the mileage amount is probably the distance from the projected landfall point.
