Why West? My thoughts....
Models are trending west and will continue to do so...storm is moving more west than many thought, NHC track is moving West, we won't even touch how far west the Florida State guys are saying......This system is likely going to hit the Panhandle of Florida or even Alabama, in my opinion. Before all of the new people jump on this thread and accuse me of being a wishcaster, or insane, keep in mind, it's just my opinion. The reason I think this is that the trough is backing up in the Gulf---that trough is expected to be over New Orleans tomorrow. We have rain in the forecast for tomorrow and Monday. The Gulf is opening up for the storm and the high pressure ridge is moving in from Florida. It's clear to see and I have been receiving alot of IM's and emails with these thoughts since yesterday. Of course, this could be completely wrong--anything is subject to error with this system right now. Steering patterns will become excrutiatingly weak tomorrow and all models are subject to error or "breakdowns," after tomorrow. Don't be surprised if we see some wacky stuff. This is just my thoughts, along with quite a few mets in our area, along with a couple from the NHC. The great thing is we can all watch and see what happens--this is an interesting storm to watch when it comes to path. We all will have alot to learn from it when it is over. Here is the GOM satellite and you can see some of my points occurring in this view. http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/PS/TROP/DATA/RT ... -loop.html
