10 STEPS to breaking your storm2k addiction!!!!

#1 Postby Pebbles » Sat Sep 11, 2004 1:37 pm

Seriously though...if you are getting frustrated...if your screaming at the computer... YOU NEED TO GET UP AND WALK AWAY. Go make some lunch..hang out with the family...take a walk, a nice long bubble bath, garden, do some needlepoint...drive down the street and pick your nose for all to see....WHATEVER! But for Gosh sakes get away from the tropics and your computer for a bit! People are killing themselves scanning this board and other sites almost nonstop. This isn't good for ANYONE. I know this is an extremely stressful time and people want to be prepared but, believe me... The tropics will still be here in a couple of hours! IF you stay ...your brain, sanity, and emotions won't! ***Special HUGGERS****

Pebbles...

I know just what you mean. I have been obsessed with this. And the funny thing is...when I leave for a few hours...I come back to find I haven't missed much.

I know my husband thinks this is unhealthy behavior...I can't get off the computer. But then again, I can't see the point of watching 3 hours of Law and Order when this is going on!

Someone else just posted about the endorphins...maybe I'm getting a "buzz" from this :)

My girlfriend thinks I've had a "problem" for the last month and that I need professional help. I try to explain my fascination but it falls on deaf ears. Oh well.

Well all of you are welcome to visit me here in central Florida. I have been without power since 9:50 am on the 5th. If you visit please bring ice, water, and any generators you can find. My house has been running about 84% humidity and 80 degrees at night. Right now we are having a special on firewood. I will try to post more when I get power back and can clean up inside the house. They say if we don't get power by Sunday they are going to pull all the power companies out of Fl for Ivan and we will have to wait and see.

One good thing about leaving the computer for a couple hours is that when you get back to storm2k you have so much more to read. I had to clean house this morning and now I have lots and lots to read. Of course, its making me very nervous again.

I was in need of a break this morning, so I threw a leg over my Harley and took in the sites (panic buying of gas, plywood, etc.) of our area of late. I noticed a LOT more people have boarded up this time after Charley. 8 hours later, I'm back here, reading posts and listening to Power106... :)
