ECMWF Added to Mid-Atlantic WX.com Map...BUT...

#1 Postby Scott_inVA » Sat Sep 11, 2004 8:33 am

Finally figured out a way to get the EC on the map...sorta.

This requires manually "guesstimating" the EC's coordinates and manually entering them into the software, then connecting the dots.
The data I'm using comes from:
http://meteocentre.com/models/modelscep.html

Therefore the EC may NOT show precise coordinates for the current run. No flaming that it may not be accurate b/c you are warned it is close, but not exact.

Also, the EC is displayed in 24 hr increments so it will show very sharp turns...obviously that isn't what the track will be so use your imagination to smooth out the forecast track.

Oh, it takes ~20 minutes to do the EC this way so don't get used to it  . I'll run it as time permits but it won't be a regular model on the map.
