I wouldn't mind seeing them myself. I wonder why a 2 day delay. i'm sure our government new the day of. Wow will have to catch the news first thing tomorrow morning getting sleepy now lol

I'm sure we have spy sattellites with lots of pretty pictures, but I doubt they are avaliable publicly on the internet.

NASA says some images are down because of hardware problems. The only images missing, for both sattelites, are the time passes over N. Korea.

You are nearly as paranoid as I am, LOL. I think the reason that 13:15 is not on there is that it is dark at that time in Korea. What you have to do is match up the Sat pass times with small maps provided for each day, one for Terra and one for Aqua. You may or may not get the shot at the right time as the imager pass may be at an obtuse angle or it may miss a certain spot entirely. But its worth a try. Give me a yell if you have trouble, I've searched that site a good bit.

Yes, but the adjacent sectors ARE there, only the N.Korea is missing. If it was dark at the time, it would have been dark a few hundred miles away, as well.

N. Korea is unavailable for Friday, though it is available (under heavy cloud cover) for Saturday.

Okay, clue me in as to exactly what we are looking for in Korea and I will I try to figure out what is happening. I apparently am misunderstanding something or something is being misread because I checked just to make sure and regardless of what images are showing whatever, at 1300z in Korea, its dark. I could easily have the jist of this search wrong or something, just trying to find out what.

supposedly some there was a 2.5 mile wide mushroom cloud over north korea on the 9th at 11am local time.

At 13:15 the sat. was supposed to have taken pics of that region but mysteriously those pics are missing.

Okay, this is what I found. If something sounds just plain wrong let me know and I will go back and correct if possible.

If the mushroom cloud was seen around 11am local time, that would be 0200z as Korea is +9 hrs to UTC. On the MODIS page I found the two visable possibilities, meaning daylight, but both were strikeouts. On the Terra sat, Korea fell right between two images and therefore there was no picture of it. The image would have been about an hour after the sighting. No censorship or nat security, just the way it fell, I think. I have looked for hur and typhoons this way and this happens regularly. On the Aqua sat, Korea was covered in clouds and this was three or four hours after the sighting. There may be some other sources however such as POES and maybe some foreign satellites. Everyone pic a satellite and take a shot, maybe we will get lucky,LOL.

Thanks for filling me in, you've really got me curious as to what happened.
