I'm addicted when a hurricane is out there....I take breaks--I recommend breaks for everyone. Don't stare at this site all day. As for me, I'd get a headache. I was all over today running errands. And I went to the French Quarter for 3 hours for a birthday bash for a friend at a happy hour and danced around and danced with them. It was fun. Then I came back home, put dinner on the stove, and came back and started surfing!!

Somehow all the everyday chores and hurricane prep is still getting done. Dinner is still being made, and homework is still getting done.
But, what this pronounced interest in reading information on this site has done for my family has been extremely helpful.
It has helped me help my parents make the decision to fly away from their home in Clearwater and spend a week in Colorado. This helped calm down my fear of evacuating to another area without them.
My brother flew down to Key West two days ago, and motored his Hatteras back up to Tampa Bay. I had several phone calls from him along the way, asking for the "latest" to help him make the decision as to whether he should leave the boat in Naples, or bring it on back home.
I find myself getting really frustrated listening to such general information on TWC and wanting to get back to this site for much more detailed information.
Just by reading information on this site, my understanding of hurricanes has increased so much. Last few days, I've had a handful of my neighbors huddled over my screen with me looking at some of the great models and graphs you all have shared.
I laugh because as little as I know, everyone's calling me now for the "latest".
