How long has Neil Frank been out of the NHC?

I always remember that a great part of his message was population growth and how all the new residents didn't fully understand the capability of the storms. I remember reading that he would even go door to door if he thought it necessary to get his message out.

Since he left, I wonder how many people have moved into the area and haven't heard his "speech". No one, No one could describe a Hurricane in simple, persuasive language like he could.

Ixolib,

It depends on how delayed the turn is. As noted earlier, one of the tracks that I used for some reference is that of Camille. I remain concerned about that.

I'm not yet sure whether I'll need to shift my ideas farther to the west. By this evening I should have a better idea.

Hi ZZ,
I'm just north of you and yea....we're about due. Been awhile since Opal and even Kate before that.

I don't think it'll be Cat 4 or 5 when/if it gets here though...3 probably.

I know I'm tired of being in the middle of the cone though!

I don't think the eye has missed GC by a significant margin. It is just off the south coast by a few miles. They are getting the worst part of Ivan right now.

I don't see it getting to the Yucatan either.
But then again, I haven't thrown my bowling ball lately either so ....

quit thinking so much !!!

YOU CAN"T HAVE NEIL!

We love him too much here in Houston!

That being said, I feel like Avila is my friend, I've read so many of his discussions, I always say at the end.."why thank you forecaster Avila.."

Stewart looks like a trustworthy guy though!

this was already discussed. He wont be able to charter the plane first off, and secondly, his little chemicals cannot reduce htis storm.

I was just womdering if he already did it.
I noticed on the satallite views that a flareup of VERY cold clouds was followed by a streak of warmer clouds near the outer edges of the eyewall.

Could this be evidense that he is dumping the product and having an effect?

I am skeptical, but something happened.
