SAT projection(sat view) vs PSN projection(map view)

#1 Postby Pileus » Sun Sep 12, 2004 7:26 pm

I compared the SAT projection (sat view) animations and the PSN (map
view) animations in Weather Tap and realize that I havent been taking
into consideration the curve of the planet when looking at Ivan's direction
of movement. Clearly I can see a more NW component on the SAT view
when compared to the PSN view only because of the curvature. I hope I
haven't thrown a wrench into the works but I think it's important to
realize that GOES images are in a PSN(Polar Stereographic North) map
format.
