Special Tropical Disturbance Statement

#1 Postby Scott_inVA » Mon Sep 13, 2004 8:30 am

I don't need no stinkin' tropical disturbance statement right now.

BTW...the 6Z GFS brings it inland near Charleston, SC. (sigh)

SPECIAL TROPICAL DISTURBANCE STATEMENT
NWS TPC/NATIONAL HURRICANE CENTER MIAMI FL
900 AM EDT MON SEP 13 2004

SATELLITE IMAGES AND SURFACE OBSERVATIONS INDICATE THE TROPICAL WAVE
APPROACHING THE LEEWARD ISLANDS HAS BECOME BETTER ORGANIZED THIS
MORNING...AND IT COULD BECOME A TROPICAL DEPRESSION DURING THE NEXT
24 HOURS. THE SYSTEM IS MOVING WEST-NORTHWESTWARD AT ABOUT 10 MPH
AND IT WILL BRING LOCALLY HEAVY RAINS AND GUSTY WINDS TO THE
LEEWARD ISLANDS TODAY AND TOMORROW.

(hands Scott a root beer)

Hey Scott, have I mentioned how much I appreciate the great work you do? WELL I DO!!!!!

Maybe this one will get eaten by shear? I know.....wishful thinking.......we took the plywood down yesterday. And power is finally coming back to most people who lost it during Frances. At least in my neighborhood.

Anyway, thanks, Scott for keeping the model page updated.
