Needless to say I'm glued on tenderhooks now for a closer pass.
Looking at early shutters and plywood now...
It may miss us, but what I don't like is the birds disappeared and the front porch bees are acting unusual and flying against the walls like they did before Charley...

Sanibel, I for one take notice when you do, as I 've said before. And, I know up to this point you were pretty much in agreement that we wouldn't be too severly effected. But, now, after seeing the turn, I'm a bit concerned as well! Thanks for posting, it's nice to have someone in our general area keeping an eye out for us!

The trouble is Ivan is moving so slow that it is hard to notice. Slow forward speed equals better chance of turn. I'm not saying it will happen, but this is a fact. As it turns out the birds are still in the yard. I thought they left but they didn't.
It's hot here and humid. The sun is coming through the hazy upper cirrus disc. It has actually improved here since this afternoon.
Ivan is still NW at a crawl. It's too early to tell any movement, but a quick north turn isn't happening right now.
Good news is I fixed a pin on our shutter roller assembly with a rigged replacement screw from the hardware store so 3 out of 4 shutters can go down on the sea side. One is permanently down and won't retract...
Weird sky here in hot calm...

Sanibel & Cape - I too am a little more concerned now than I was this A.M. - especially after reading Sanibel's posts.
I hope we are not in for a surprise. Don't think we will get hit direct, but it sure seems as if it might be a little closer.
As Cape said - Sanibel - we depend on you to keep us up to date for our area - ok?
