Hurricane Jeanne Forecasted

#1 Postby WaryEye » Mon Sep 13, 2004 4:58 pm

Hello all...

My local news channel ( 24 NBC ) here in Toledo, Ohio just forecasted Tropical Depression 11 to become Tropical storm and then Hurricane Jeanne by the time it reached the Bahamas. I am not sure where he got his info from but I can say that he is the only weatherman I watch around here as he is almost always right on and not the sort to report anything fabricated.

Has anyone else heard this? It seems I am spending half the day praying for you folks down there.... so worried about Ivan and now this? <UGH> :hmm:

I've heard the same thing, I really got a kick out of the weatherman in Ohio making tropical forecasts though. Theres nothing wrong with that, I'm just surprised that anyone other than us weather geeks cares about the tropics.

Oh, yes.... local meteorologists are very on top of what goes on down south and elsewhere with regard to horrible weather. We have been updated every night about Bonnie, Charley, Frances, Ivan and now Jeanne. I am the sort to worry and pray for people regardless but I do have very close friends living in Boca Raton FL... I helped a couple down there have twins through gestational surrogacy in 1999 and we are like extended family.... we vacation regularly and talk weekly. I have been greatly concerned for their safety recently, understandably. :(

yea i agree, she really looks ugly, I mean Linda Tripp ugly. But the thing is with TD, they arent very symmetrical, but as long as they have that circulation, they have the potential to wrap thunderstorms around themselves.

Nah. I just think Charley and Ivan spoiled it for all the other storms. Now they have such a high standard to achieve to "look" like a menacing storm. I bet if all we had were cat 1's, we'd be saying this storm looks impressive. lol
