48 FOOT WAVES !!

Forcast for Mississippi Alabama coast
Thursady morning... 47 FEET !!!

it was showing 70 feet on the 11pm forcast...

Good Heavens! 70 foot waves?! When was the last time (if ever) such a thing happened to the US Coast?

Last time was probably Hurricane Camille. I was in Gulf Breeze for Camille and we saw 50 foot waves there which was 120 miles from landfall.

typically 50%

the barrier islands will go underwater...

i remember georges was showing 35 feet at the bouys

we went to Dauphin Island that day and the surf
was solid 15 to 20...

Just how far is that from the coast?

It's not too far south of the mouth of Mobile Bay.

mobile's 30.5N, 88.0?W....and that's about 20 miles inland. So....it ain't far.

here is a graphic map for today through Wednesday
morning... they are forcasting it to double by thursday... 70 feet!! The whole Gulf will be turned
upside down!!
