No harm intended here (note to moderators) but what the hell ... you sound like you are upset about that...You live in Tampa and you are upset because it shifted west? If I could give it to you I would...are you feeling ok...have you been smoking what Ricky Williams smokes...did you take the short bus to school...

Come on dude...be happy that the track shifted west...especially since there has been ZERO synoptic reason for it too at this time...I will pray for you that it does tomorrow though...

Trust me,nobody here is wishing for another hurricane,we've had enough.

I must say, LowMug, I agree with you that I found tampastorm's statement a bit weird. I think everyone's just on edge, so it's easy to get on each other over nothing. I wish you both the best.

What has me concerned is that the shift West isn't nearly enough.

The track they forecast has it heading pretty clearly NNW right now, 330 to 337. The last 3 hours it bore 324, which is much closer to the NW they said it would do. If the 2AM is similar, which is to say has it at 22.7 or less and 85.9 or more, the model will move westward again in the morning.

More information, more wait and see.

I gotta add my 2 cents here...I'm in Tampa as well. All this hype over the N or N/W wobble, trend, whatever, has us ALL ready to jump out of our skins. I was expecting an Eastward move to the track as well. And was VERY surprised that it was even more W. Doesn't mean that I wanted Ivan, just that we want to know WHERE it is going. The waiting is horrendous. Especially when some people think it will come at us. (not finger pointing....most of you are much more knowledgable than I am), but it was a major topic today. I think we all need a good night's sleep....I know I do.

What Kind Of IDIOTIC statement is that!!!!!!!!!! I just want to make sure no one on the W coast of FL is caught off guard. We have had more then enough of our share of FEAR!

You know, I think that this is a constant problem on this board. People who live in places where strong hurricanes have not hit for awhile may not understand this, but no one from Florida (or the Carolinas) is "wishing" a hurricane their way. When you've been through bad storms, and lived with all the stress, you are definitely not "wanting" another one to come your way (at least not most sane people). I understand what Florida people are feeling, and maybe now more people on this board will understand us Carolina members too. We are "oh sh*t" casting if anything. It's the dreaded fear of another major hurricane, and the "are you sure it's not coming here" feeling that grips you, even when the forecast does not head the storm your way. Give up this constant griping that someone "wants" a storm. And if there are any members who want to experience a hurricane that badly, all they have to do is fly to the area that is forecast to be hit a day or so beforehand. The members who live on the west coast of Florida are going to feel anxious about this major, huge hurricane in their backyard. Let it be. A little empathy goes a long way.

it IS a form of well-earned paranoia.

No surprise to me it was more west...I thought that jog east at the 11 and 5 were looney and that they would have to shift it back to west.

It is premature for anything but conjecture. Science will tell us a lot about Ivan over the course of the next 72 hours, but storms this powerful can tend to create their own path.

I'm somewhat concerned for an eastward shift, especially if Ivan initially takes aim more toward Panama City in the first place. That puts people on the peninsula back at risk very quickly.

Amen! This hurricane just needs to die in the middle of the gulf. No one needs a Cat 5 or 4 storm like this one! Die, Ivan, die!

I am I promise you...but you know what sucks is that I can't board my windows because the windows are flush with the exterior walls...

Stucco on the front ... Sheet Vinyl on the back ... hold up but I do have brick on the side (but only one small window)

At least they are double paned windows though
