The Mods are coming together

#1 Postby k3839 » Mon Sep 13, 2004 11:14 pm

All the hotels here in Baton Rouge are booked. We are taking friends into our home from New Orleans. I am a policeman and don't get rattled very easily but this is upsetting. I think that the media needs to treat this as a worst case senario and help us get people out of New Orleans. Tommorrow evening may be too late. I would hate to have people trying to leave the city getting caught in their cars.

Hotels are pretty much booked out here in SW LA - Lafayette and Lake Charles don't have many rooms left if any. Maybe in Texas?

Hotel rooms in Texas are available. We are about 30 miles West of Lake Charles. If anyone needs help or local advice for Southeast Texas along I-10, let me know. I will be happy to check local motel/hotels.

My boss told us on Sunday afternoon the Hurricane shifted west (Headed towards New Orleans) and that Lone Star would be open on Tuesday to accomodate people from the east.

I guess as the time he was told the storm would be hitting on Tuesday.

He also booked two rooms for any servers wanting to work (I guess incase we get some squalls and they can't make it back home).
I kept my name off the list lol. I got to work Tuesday Night. I'm off on Wednesday Night (a more likely Ivan strike)

Everyone down to the restaurants have no clue what is going on. People are just as confused as they came to work and said, "I thought it was hitting Flordia!"
