Not a pretty site for any along the North Central Gulf Coast this morning. Just a note..for those in New Orleans...don't freak...the turn isn't expected at all today...just watch the monster come closer, but, that, obviously doesn't mean the eye is going to go overhead....Hope everyone has their plans about wrapped up... http://www.ssd.noaa.gov/PS/TROP/DATA/RT ... -loop.html

Oooh.. you're right! because a storm over 400 miles in diameter won't cause problems when turning less than 200 miles off shore.

We'll have problems, but, not like if the eye went overhead!! Is Six Flags ready? Bet they have alot of loose ends to tie up there!

It appears to me that he is already weakening maybe even more than expected. Not only that but it looks like Ivan will stay pretty far to your east. I have a feeling that the Big EZ will be fine.

What bothers me is that the entire senerio for this storm is the eastward push it should get at the last minute. The mets here are worried about that not happening as well. New Orleasns is going to get something off of this but hopefully not a direct hit. Needless to say, today will be full of nail biting and coffee drinking.
