***Saddam address---breaking news***

President Saddam Hussein urges Iraqis, in a speech broadcast on Iraqi television, to "strike the enemy with force" and predicts victory. In the message he mentions a U.S. Apache helicopter downed March 24.

"He" keeps saying victory is near for them and we keep kicking their butts.

That's the 24th - Old News

#4 Postby Steve H. » Fri Apr 04, 2003 11:22 am

That's old news, and who was that masked man  The latest is the announcement from the defense minister dejour (french word) that they will use forces tonight that are "unconventional." This is disturbing, but we'll see. It's about 8 pm there. He said "that these unconventional means will be used in the dark, because in the darkness we have no conventions" or something like that. What the heck does that mean?? Nobody there has power so who is the message getting to but people outside Baghdad. Is this the last call on the propaganda front, or a serious threat :o Not sure, but be prepared and remember this is war. Stay the Course - Steady as she goes 8)

The defense minister also said yesterday on Iraqi TV (I saw it on Fox) that we weren't entering Baghdad, that we didn't have control of any cities, and that in fact, our troops were retreating in these cities...that basically we were scared of them.

I wouldn't have believed it if I hadn't seen it with my own 2 eyes.

I take anything he says with a grain of salt.

I just saw the tape, the guy speaking is the same one that had the glasses on after that first night of attack, this time he did't have the glasses on. Sure looks old and face seems puffed.

BOTH!

He's trying to fool the Iraqi people so they'll fear their government and keep fighting. If they know their government has been defeated, they will have no reason to fear them and the Iraqi threats won't work.

OK, let me comment here; I was once a portrait illustrator, and SAW the pics...one of provenance taken of Saddam, and this latest photo-op.

When one has rendered as many portraits as I have....the OLD way, eye-to-hand...one gets a keen eye for bone structure, detailed visual examination of measuring eyebrows, eye to corner of the mouth, nose width, etc...(I could go on for ages about my craft).

This guy, IMCEO (in my considered expert opinion) is one of Saddam's "ringers" for the reasons I stated above...the mystery of his whereabouts (or remains) is yet to be solved.

Also, noted that the IRAQ television is showing pictures of SADAMN in a crowd? Memorex maybe?

If we can't tell for sure then we just shoot everyone that looks like Saddam. We'll let Allah sort out who the real one is :-)

LOL Marshall

Btw...the defense minister also said this morning that we did not have control of the airport and then they aired scenes of the airport before we took control so the Iraqi people would believe him.

The comment yesterday was that we weren't within 100 miles of Bagdad! I guess those were mirages on the airfield the Iraqi's were seeing! :-) The "appearence" today was more than likely one of the doubles IMO
