question from newbie

when you look at the IR there is a cluster of cold clouds moving through texas towards the NE. What are these associated with? Thanks

Wow... look at all this activity... even here in North Central Texas
the local mets were taken by surprise by rain they didn't see coming !

could it be moisture being pushed further inland off the gulf by Ivan's approach or a feature coming in from the west? Not sure if it is associated, but here in Keller, Texas we got rain today, unexpectedly.

More likely Ivan has stirred up a border with the trough to the convection's NW that is obviously not pushing towards Ivan. To me it makes it look like NW will continue...
