Feeling better in LA

#1 Postby HollynLA » Tue Sep 14, 2004 7:13 pm

If this storm goes more towards Mobile, then our impact should be minimal. I just hope I don't wake up in the morning to a whole different senerio. For now, I'm relaxing a bit more and gonna get a good nights sleep. Anyone else in LA feel this way too. Thank goodness for near misses.

If that is truly the case then "oops" - - - can we say move a little farther west for landfall?

I'm with you on this one, HollynLA. I'm feeling pretty good about this one for our area. I'm just at the end of the Tropical Storm Warning area, but feeling fairly safe. Nice warml breeze blowing from the east at the moment. Prayers to our neighbors to the east.

Holly, I'm beginning to feel worse. If I remember right you are in Montegut. I'm in Chauvin, and I am packing in case I need to make a quick get away

If anyone needs to come west to evacuate and you don't want to get stuck on Highway 90 or I-10, take Highway 14 exit from New Iberia and head into Vermilion Parish - You can continue on to Lake Charles if you need to and never touch I-10 or 90. Quiet area and rooms available at some motels and hotels.

Uh....I for one would not be feeling better in La. I would be actually feeling worse b/c there is the possiblity of Ivan NOT turning until after landfall. NOLA could still possibly looking at the worse case scenario that has been talked about for years.
