WLOX says 20 foot Surge Possible

#1 Postby MGC » Tue Sep 14, 2004 6:52 pm

Good ole Mike Reeder on WLOX's 6pm news forecast a possible 20 foot storm surge to the right of Ivan's landfall. Hope he is wrong but I doubt it. If Ivan comes in near the AL/MS border, Dauphin Island will be overwashed by several feet of Ivan's surge. Futher down the beach in Gulf Shores (my favorite beach on the Gulf Coast) should see 15 or so which will totally wreck Gulf Shores. Good luck to all in Ivan's path....MGC

Theres going to be wide spread damage withIvan, since hurricane for winds extend over 100 miles from his center.Widespread flooding will be the most obvious :(

If he stays to our east I do not think we will have to deal with the major storm surge.
