They're starting to crank up in the eastern Gulf
Could be some rough weather as far east as the W coast of FL

Yes that is pretty amazing... and makes me more nervous here in Tallahassee. Doesn't take much wind to knock trees down around here.
Back in '85 when Kate passed by we had thousands of trees down and power out in some places for 2 weeks, and the highest official sustained wind was 47 mph and highest gust was 67mph!

Impressive storm! His eye is nearly equal to us in latitude about 350 miles to our west now. Wind has picked up here in 20+ knot gusts with feeder band offshore about 60 miles sparking lightning. Trouble on its way to north coast...

Believe it or not, about 10 minutes ago my power flickered out.

The storm isn't even coming here and TECO's grid around my area is so poor that it just blows itself out on it's own... amazing

Oh well, we can rest assured the strongest rainband we get isn't a fraction of what the N gulf coast is going to feel :\

Yea thats about all we'll get. Just had an eerie feeling thinking of it moving up the gulf as I watched some feeder bands racing overhead. I sure hope they are all getting out of Ivan's way. This storm is not playing.
