Occupants of high-rise buildings within the
Hurricane Warning area can expect higher winds than those
experienced at the surface...about one Saffir-Simpson category
higher at the top of a 30-story building.
STAYING in a 10th floor beachfront condo in Biloxi!!

For goodness sake, don't anyone offer the person some USEFUL advice.
If they can't leave at this point, even to find a shelter, how about descending to, say, floor 4, or so, and getting into an interior hallway in the center of the building. There may be a central storage room on each floor, something with no windows.

Concrete walls and above any storm surge. But in his situation, I'd head for the nearest shelter now (not that I'd be in his situation in the first place).

Thanks for all the advice. I posted a link to this thread for him at the other board. Hopefully you've scared him enough to convince him to take whatever measures he can. It's a condo, not a hotel. He lives there. Hopefully he will com eout unscathed and have learned something valuable from the experience.

10th floor of a condo? sliding glass door? at/near landfall?
Also, local ES personnel would certainly appreciate this Rhodes Scholar writing IN INDELIBLE INK his SSN up his arm and down his leg. That's helpful when trying to ID someone after the landfall.
Scott
**edit**!!
No attacks.
And Scott's advice is true.
