As Ivan approaches land

#1 Postby MGC » Wed Sep 15, 2004 2:19 pm

Will Ivan pivot to the west like he did near Jamicia? I realize that south Mississippi don't have the mountains like Jamacia, butc ould the recent NNW wobble be an indication of a more westward track into Mississippi?......MGC

MGC:

I've just spent the last 3 hours scanning the tracks. Ivan is stable in a track right down the NHC line due to stable synoptics surrounding him. I thought the trough was maybe too weak to keep him from going straight NNW from here, but the entire synoptic balance is now pretty stable and should take him right up Mobile Bay or thereabouts.

Stay safe, he should pass you to the east but give you a rough night...
