I really haven't been following the NHC forcasts with this storm, but if they were calling for a noticeably weakened storm hitting the coast, then they should be ashamed. You can't call these Gulf storms for sure, especially with this storm, but to not anticipate possible big-time strengthening (as the NHC did with Charley) is a huge mistake.
