18Z GFS: Jeanne hits FL...TWICE!

#1 Postby Scott_inVA » Wed Sep 15, 2004 9:54 pm

Covering Ivan & just noticed the 18Z GFS brings Jeanne into S FL then after a brief vacation at the Yucatan, comes back and hits the west coast.

Oh..then gets SC.

Not funny, I know but when one sees this while living on 4 hours sleep, it's rather amusing.

Maybe it is seeing Jeanne actually going into the GOM which still seems how this will work out (I think  )

What a mish-mash. That certainly isn't very informative but it is amusing. As always, thanks, Scott. Don't know how you find enough hours in the day to do all that you do. Getting little sleep frees up some time but still...

Try to rest up as it looks as if we may have a few more busy weeks coming.

Ok...All hurricanes hear this! "FLORIDA IS OFF LIMITS FOR THE REST OF THE YEAR!!!" Don't I only wish it were that easy??

The models know we're twitchy. I imagine BAM and NOGAPS got together and put GFS up to it. "Do it, man! Seriously! Freak 'em out! Hey, have it come back and hit New Orleans!"

What's funny is that most of those models have Jeanne crashing into Hispanola. What happens after that isn't all that important, as it won't be much of a storm, IMHO.

Jeanne is going to be a nightmare to predict with that much divergence in the long term. Maybe the Dominican Republic will take care of Jeanne since any track over the island might completely destroy the very small circulation.
