The people there reported seeing a tornado on the ground.

The Tampa reporter is driving around in Pensacola and he says it looks "really bad", but from what he can tell so far not quite as bad as Charley.

I have internet live feed going and the TV. If I hear anything I will update you. I have no idea of the names of the counties so I will just give brief breaking news for you. Please stop worrying, I am sure she is fine and the biggest rain is moving more north and a bit east. So far no word on surge and what not.

Thanks so much!!!

I have been so concerned because I could not find a way to convey that Ivan was "bigger & badder" than Opal or Fredrick, even though I knew it was. I didn't want to frighten my Mom.

I guess they had to find out for themselves first hand :(

At least they are safe for now and will probably be coming to stay with me for awhile until things can get sorted out. Whew!

Make that 8. :(
A child died in a mobile home when a tree fell on it. :( This is just horrifying! Why was there a child in a mobile home??

birdwomn...I'm so glad you talked to your mom and she'll be coming to your house. I heard there is major damage in that area...glad she's safe!

We still have utilities integrity in parts of Niceville north of Ft. Walton Beach. Lots of flickers though. We've even gotten fairly good satellite reception despite the wind and rain.

Channel 3 is still boradcasting and operating that most of their audience is listening to the radio simulcast.

We had a sandy pine hit our house, but structural integrity seems good- no signs of leaking down into the house. We think there's another pine across the driveway. Good thing is that those pines "fall softly" unlike oaks.

I've seen video of the damage in PC. Captain Anderson's was trashed.

From what I've read about the two fatalities in PC, one was in a business, and one was an elderly lady on the East side of the bay, in her home.

Also, the tornado that hit Blountstown was caught on video from a plane. Nasty stuff. Five died in their homes.
