The original poster is talking about Ivan, not Jeanne, stalling.

I hope Ivan doesn't stall! That's not what we need here, is for that TD to stall bringing heavy rains to E OH/NE KY...FYI I'm in N KY, but if that scenario comes to pass, it's possible that we may have floods here...:(

I sure hope not either, Jeremy. :(

For ie. Asheville, NC just got their water lines back up a few days ago after Frances flooding.

oh really...and they are basing this on what? i saw nhc met today an hour ago on msnbc and he said it will stall. guess i will take nhc word for it before some local met.

Both the GFS and ETA have been trending toward a faster and more NE solution. The NWS in Greenville/SPartanburg mentions this in this morning's discussion. Its a bit early to call the whole stall off, but its looking a lot better than it was yesterday.

The GFS has been out to lunch for (1) Charley, (2) Frances, and now (3) Ivan. The GFS has been smoking crack, and I see no reason why it should sober up for Jeanne.

Folks this thread is in regard to Ivan's potential stall over the next few days.

I wasn't talking about Jeanne. The forecast for 3 days has been for Ivan to stall somewhere near the Southern Appalachains. Many of the models are now trending towards a more progressive solution for the remnants of Ivan, and I certainly hope that is the case.
