I tried to get some updated info for you from that area or county, but didn't find anything online. However, the Red Cross has workers onsite in FL and AL, and has published this phone number for people there who need help. Maybe they have info that would help you?
The number is: 1-866-GET-INFO.

You also might want to visit these sites to see if there's any info for you. The first one lists phone numbers primarily but the second site has some press releases about different areas in FL.

From the Pensacola News Journal -- this was posted last night, before the main onslaught of the storm:
-----
Waves crashed over the top of the 26-foot-tall Pensacola Beach Gulf Fishing Pier as Hurricane Ivan began its onslaught Wednesday on the Gulf Coast. A 22-foot section of the Navarre Beach Fishing Pier washed out in mid-afternoon.
"We lost the T-section on the end of the pier," said Don Chinery, Santa Rosa County public information director. "It's taking a pretty good beating right now. The erosion on the beach has been substantial and we're concerned about that too, because this is just the first little feather."
Wednesday night Gulf Breeze deputy police chief Robert Randle said: “Pensacola Beach is getting hammered. "Something was torn up because there were big pieces of wood floating in the middle of the road” at the beach.
Randle, who visited the island around 6 p.m., said water had breached the road at the Hilton Garden Inn on Via de Luna. Also, Fort Pickens Road was impassable just beyond the Hampton Inn, officials said.
Storm surge was inches away from the top of the seawall at the northern end of the Bob Sikes Bridge.
On Perdido Key, the closest area in Escambia County to the projected landfall of Ivan, all roads were still passable, said Lt. Dale Tharp of Escambia County Sheriff's Office. Some residents refused to leave. Deputies had them fill out forms for pertinent medical information.
"Wind is starting to pick up, but there's a few refusing to leave," Tharp said. "We've done all the proper paperwork. The water is inching its way to the condos. Most people have been very pleasant. They just don't want to leave. They know what we're up against."
