i don't know hurricane history like i'm sure many others here on this board. But this has got to be the worst season that I can remember. Think about it 1) TS Bonnie into the FL panhandle 2) Charley - enough said 3) Frances - bad enough, could have been really bad (could have easily been a major into the SFLA metro areas of Mia, Ft. Laud., WPB)
4) TS/hurricane Gaston - just ask Richmond, VA 5) Ivan - work in progress 6) Jeanne (and whatever that thing is behind her) wreaking havoc from the antilles - PR - DR/Haiti - ??? 7-8) Karl and Lisa appear to be waiting in the wings and with the #$@^%!*&^^% ridge over the atlantic keeping everything going west. . . And the fact that my calander only says Sept. 16th
damage totals from this season could top . . .

Andrew = South Dade leveled, moderated/severe damage in LA
2004
Charley = severe damage to port charlotte area and other parts of SW Fl, light to moderate damage orlando/daytona
Frances = moderate damage to Fla treasure coast (WPB to Melbourne), massive flooding in NC mtns
Gaston = once again, just ask Richmond
Ivan = moderate-severe damage in coastal Al/extreme western FL panhandle (and depending on what he does further north, there is the potential for massive flooding up and down the appalachain spine thanks to the saturated grounds ala Frances/Gaston)
Jeanne = PR pretty beat up (remeber they are part of the US also)
all i'm saying is this hurricane season (even if it stopped today) is probably going to end up being one of the costliest if not the most costly
