Just wait until they find some shots of a "Manufactured Death" park. I have no quarrel with the concept of "Manufactured Homes"...just the poor construction and engineering used to keep the homes cheaper (they're not really cheap anymore).

Funny how Scorpion just disappeared once the images of the devastation came out... I've been to Jupiter since Frances, and the damage there is maybe 5% of what we are seeing so far in Pensacola...

Unfortunately, it will probably be days before we know the full extent of the damage, just like with Charley.

When we found out how bad Charley was, we knew it was a Cat 4 hurricane.

When we find out all Ivan did, we will know it was at least a Cat 3.

One word - Unbelievable. Death and destruction and a comment that it is not that bad.

It is beyond insensitive, actually cruel, to say 'it wasn't that bad.' Having owned property on the beach, I am very troubled and deeply saddened by the devastation I saw on the aerial video. My heart goes out to everyone over there!

Ok I saw the video and the damage was alot worse than here. But the high rises did fare pretty well. Its mostly the older homes and structures which were heavily damaged. But geez those buildings were like right on the water. Maybe 20 feet of beach separates them and the ocean.

A hurricane will most likely not destroy a highrise building, so I am not suprised they fared well.

I believe the same reporter(s) you were watching were describing the scene around him and/or her.

On it's closest approach, Ivan's eye passed about 30 miles southwest and west of Pensacola.
