Dixiebreeze,

You are in a difficult situation. Remember the bridges may be closed and there is no power. It may be awhile until you hear from him. you will worry yourself sick if you focus on it constantly. Remember no news may be good news in this situation. Cast your worries on God and believe that until you hear otherwise, Jeremy is alive and well and will have one heck of a story to tell :)

Whenever I feel myself about to panic about something, I take deep breaths and repeat to myself "God is good, God is great" It helps me get my focus off myself and onto God who is our true source of strength and comfort.

God Bless, Marie

saying prayers here- it is so hard to go with that 'no news is good news' adage but we know it is true.

My 22 yo is leaving in 24 hours for a surfing trip to PR. Another bad scene. Darm kids.

Hang in there, Hon, Thinking of you all tonight.he wil call soon...

Dixie - I keep logging back in just to check on Jeremy. I'm so sorry this event is compounding the loss of your grand-daughther. From what you've said about him, it sounds like J. will be Ok!

Please let us know as soon as you hear and know that your many "board friends" are sending positive thoughts your way!

Dixie..

I am so sorry to hear about your granddaughter, and now you have to worry about Jeremy. I am praying for him, and for comfort for you. There is a song that I hear on z88 (Positive hits here in central fla).."When I call on Jesus, mountains are gonna fall, because He'll move Heaven and earth to come rescue me when I call"

I am going to keep an eye on this thread, I hope to see good news soon! Take care of yourself..

Dixie he was not out on the island. However his house was about 1500 feet from the Santa Rosa Sound on the "mainland". I have heard no bad news from that area except of course for the destruction we all have seen and the fact the bridge is out to the island. Comm is down all over the area to say the least, but my Mom did get through to me today from Niceville. Jeremy continues in my prayers as do you and the rest of the family.

dixie,

have you tried contacting an amateur radio operator group?
I found this link, as it was recommended to me about a week ago "just in case"

Thank the Lord, Jeremy just called home. Rode it out and just a little while ago found someone with a working cell phone. He can't get out and his Dad can't get back for a couple of days, but ER is taking supplies to Navarre.

Didn't talk long, kept breaking up, but said he is OK and it was "some experience!"

Can't wait to hear more about it -- but at least he is safe.

Thanks to everyone on this forum who cares. I know it helped.
