Was Ivan our last Major hurricane?

#1 Postby TSmith274 » Thu Sep 16, 2004 6:35 pm

Quick question. Don't know if this has been asked before. Ivan was the 4th major hurricane in a season that was predicted to produce only 3 major hurricanes. With all the action we've had over the last month, do any of you forsee us dealing with another major hurricane before this season is done? Haven't the surface temps been cooled enough after all this action to help prevent another cat3 or above? I have no idea. What do yall think?

There could very well be a 5th major... the temps aren't too low for them to form.

Danielle may be a major when they research all the storms at the end of the season- but as of now she's not :)

We're just at the peak of the season now. I expect another major, maybe two.

Yeah, not a CHANCE that we've seen the last major. The African freight lines are still delivering their nasty cargoes. Then after the Cape Verde season dies out, we could see one or more majors from the Caribbean and/or Gulf.
