Hi there.

Sorry to yell. Could one of you or more explain what that big blob that broke off from Jeanne is? It has been sitting on us for days.
Specifically, we need to know:
a: when will it move out of here and
b: could it turn into it's own storm.

We have had major loud thunder and lightning and rain.

I don't know how to embed a photo. Maybe some one else could.

Appreciate it.

Someone earlier called it a scorpion storm, because it has a stinger attached to it! I don't know if that's hurricane slang (like "fish" storm) or they just thought of a clever name on their own.

Does anyone know?

This hurricane has exhibited this sort of dual structure since it has been around...usually a sign of disorganization since there is significant upward motion away from the main circulation.

It is a persistent feeder band not quite wrapping toward the hurricane...and it may not be completely curving in as a result of the land around the south side of the circulation.

In any event...it is not the classic shape you'd usually see but it is connected to the storm...but will not be creating anything on it's own.
