Taking a break from work!

#1 Postby coriolis » Thu Sep 16, 2004 10:00 am

OK it's only 11:00, but my boss is out and I'm taking a break.

I'm eating a Reeses peanut butter cup and a banana.

Just thought I'd share that.

Well, Ed I'm taking a break from yardwork! I just weeded and edged my front yard. Cutting the lawn is next but I thought I'd mosey on in. Had a snack and like you decided to check the boards!!!

But, the key word here, is I don't have a boss!!!!

Tsk, tsk....LOL

Ha! My hubby do yardwork? I wish....he had lots of interest in this when we moved in 15 years ago. He was so proud we seeded our entire yard, planted every single tree/bush/shrub, we even did our own fertilizing (still do that). However, he hates to cut grass. And weeding? OMG, that would like asking him to scrub a toilet!

Believe me, when I see other husbands working hard on their yards every weekend, I can feel resentful. But usually I try not to let it bug me. Jim's excuse? Hay fever. True he's a mess while outside, running in for tissues every 15 minutes.....oh well, he's good at so many other things. I used to really get into this yardwork stuff but now we're so busy it almost looks like a different family lives here - in other words I didn't used to take breaks until now. LOL Maybe I'm getting too old for all this (a condo down the road looks might nice about now!)?!!

Sorry, Annette, I've been bustin my hump at work for 3 weeks now, we met our major deadline on wednesday, so I'm coasting the rest of the week. got my inbasket cleaned out today. tomorrow, I attack the 18 phone mail messages that have accumulated. Maybe if I ignore them long enough, they'll all become moot points.

Mary, don't know what to tell you about the yard work... Maybe you should go outside in a nightie, and call him out there. I do what I have to, to keep it presentable. This new house has a much smaller yard and I'm not complaining.

NWIA, hmm. Better get back to work. that's all I can say

Sheesh, you'd think this was the pot belly stove thread or something.

They fall apart if you try to get too fancy. A bite of the RPBC, and then a bite of the banana. Repeat until done. Ecstacy!

Oh. I usually just take it all in 1 big bite, without the banana. :) Chocolate is good.
