Evacuee check in?

#1 Postby GalvestonDuck » Wed Sep 15, 2004 2:36 pm

Anybody heard from our LA/MS/AL members who have evacuated? Has Linda checked in since leaving Pascagoula? Did HoumaLa and Bonnie evacuate?

It's frustrating as you know what. Bugging the crap outta me everytime I see that eye moving closer and closer. I can't imagine what they're going through. :(

I think I'm praying for all in his path, every few minutes - any quiet moment I have, I just sigh and then pray. Everytime they show radar and the map down there, I can almost picture Linda's house. I've never seen a picture of it but my gosh Kelly posted it is just TWO blocks from the gulf.

Last I'd talked to her, she'd moved a little further to the north, but that was at 11:30 yesterday...I left her a message at 11:45 last night to call me...and expect to hear soon hopefully, if nothing by 10am ET, I will try to reach her.

As of 10am, Sandi is safe in a friend's house north of US 98. However...she said there's no power, and there's no water. The house she's been in throughout the storm is fine but she couldn't go back to her home yet.

Anyone hear from Linda yet? I hope her house was spared. I would imagine she'll return tomorrow if not already.

I just got in a little while ago. Wanted to check the board first and check email.

Found out my buddy Jeff in Silverhill only evacuated to Mobile, after sending his kids and wife here. He wanted to stay close to his workplace, make sure all the stuff there stayed secure (it did). Hasn't been back to see his house yet. Can you guys send up prayers for him, please? Silverhill is in Baldwin County, south of I-10, right up the road from Gulf Shores, where the beast hit.

I tried to call Linda earlier this afternoon -- phone worked (or at least, it rang and rang and rang, as if the phone line was still good). No answering machine. Gonna try again here in a sec. Will post again if I know something. If not, you'll know I didn't get an answer.

If anyone else knows other contact numbers for her, could ya give it a buzz?

This might be a good sign -- the #'s busy right now.

And c5camille said Pascagoula did okay. :)

Gulfbreezer lost everything, but she and the boys are ok and for that we praise God.

Has anyone heard from Linda yet? I know where she was going, but have no idea if she got there.

I have her on the phone now.

Everything's fine -- should have power some time today. The ringer on her NEW phone doesn't work. Can't get to Gulf Breeze to check on parent's house. Can't use answering machine without power, but they're working on it. Shouldn't be too long. Pecan tree fell on power line.

OMG, Sandi lost everything? Oh I'm just so sorry to hear that. But I'm so thankful she and her boys are okay.

Shawn - thanks for trying to reach Linda. So glad you got a hold of her!!! I'm assuming her house fared well even though a tree fell on the power line? At least she evacuated. Could have been much worse.
