Carolinas are winning! South Florida a close second! Let's see who will be the winner next week. Hopefully, nobody. I hope that cranky woman steer out with the sharks or fizzles like her boyfriend Earl. Every member of Storm2K, keep responding to my poll if you haven't already done so. I want to get as many votes as I can.

So Fla/Gulf.
Not -removed-, either; this is the first of these storms that I thought has a reasonable chance of actually heading right towards us here south of Miami, rather than just coming into our general area and giving us a brush-by.
Why? Because of how strong the ridge has been this season and because she is starting out about midway between where Ivan and Frances were. She's already been going more W and the NHC track has been shifted W with each advisory if I recall correctly. It's too easy to see her following that same easy curve around the edge of the high that was reflected in Ivan and Frances's tracks. Guess what Ivan does is the wild card, though, and could make Jeanne do something totally different.
Intensity? Who knows. Yesterday I would've assumed she was toast over the DR but she seems to be holding her circulation together pretty well, considering. I wouldn't expect her to get up to a major cane once she gets N of Hispaniola but I wouldn't be too surprised either if she did, the way this year has been going.

well since I have no experience...
I will tell you what local mets say. One says possibly Florida and one says Tybee Island, GA area (Cat2 possibly), of course, subject to change since it is so far out and dependant on the length of time it stays in the mountains.
All I know is that the local Emergency Mngmnt Agcy is having a "routine" discussion about Jeanne tomorrow which will be broadcast at noon. Please note it is simply a timing issue Friday vs. Monday, but -broadcaster also mentioned-this hasn't been done since Floyd.
Who knows? I am the last person in the world who knows anything about hurricanes!!!
Just reporting the news.

Well even if it hit NC , you being in Fay., most likely you would not see much of it unless it hit Morehead city or whatnot and it goes down the CapeFear Like Fran. Were you there for that??
