Active Beginning Means Active End

#1 Postby canegrl04 » Fri Sep 17, 2004 6:09 am

I heard that on the news yesterday.Forgot where, but this reporter was talking to Max Mayfield and it was brought out that a busy beginning to a hurricane season usually means it will be busy all the way through

We've still got October

But didn't we get off to a SLOW start? As I recall, there was a lot of grumbling on the board cause nothing got going until August.... can anyone else remember that far back?

Active beginning does not mean active end. 1997 had 5 tropical systems before August 1. The final count for 1997 was 8 tropical syetms, including TD 5. 1995 of course was amazingly active, but interestingly, nothing formed in November.

I don't believe that is an accurate statement.

I think it could be.. Rememver last year we had Nicholas in October.. then Odette and Peter in the post season. Peter nearly meandered around to the Christmas holiday..

I think we definitely are going to have an active finish.. especially if the waves keep getting pumped off Africa..

One has nothing to do with the other, we had nothing in June or July, then it blew up. Nothing is for certain. Could have 0 in oct and nov. Could have 5. We'll have to wait and see.
