Well its not looking good as it seems the center is moving WSW away from the convection.

The island of Hispaniola is a hurricane killer.
"if" Jeanne had been a cat 3 or 4 when approaching the dominican republic, perhaps it might have survived but it was a minimum hurricane and the mountains tore her apart.

I wouldn't be surprised if the 5PM advisory is the last on Jeanne. According to the way the NHC was talking in the 2PM advisory, this could be it. But I'll bet you anything if this is the final advisory, it won't stay that way. She'll come back.

I hope she's a goner. Charley and Frances were enough for me, and my son lives in Sarasota---a few days of nervous moments for him, and enough of the hurricane season for me!!
