:cry: here Im now, iam in a litter town [Called] higuey, boys...jeanne totally destroy the town...we are a town of 35,000 people,...bridges are all down..we look like an island into an island....our gov. had requested help from the U.S.A..... we are needing moving bridges...helipcoter..i just handled my self to make a litter energy from 2 batt. i had on my garage...boys...you better look at this .... way too sad!!! boys!!!!


take care you all, send me your prayers, we will needed it.. i just register 100 mhp on jeanne (iam at the east side of hispaniola)..must of the beach resort are destryed..no comm!!!


we really need help down here,if you know someone from the medias ,please let them know what is happning at hispaniola islands......

It wasn't THAT strong. Flooding, yes, but unless things are made out of paper over there they shouldn't be "destroyed".

100 m.p.h. can destroy wooden homes quite efficiently. Just look at those F-1 midwest tornadoes that do significant damage. I wouldnt call those homes made out of paper

I believe there was another post earlier concerning the damage which stated they had received winds of 96mph. There were pictured of the extreme damage.

There is a lot of poverty in DR so I can imagine destruction specially if you loose everything you own to flooding. Lets not forget that wind is not the ONLY devastating factor of storms.
