What's this?

#1 Postby LaBreeze » Sat Sep 18, 2004 10:01 pm

I heard earlier tonight on Fox News that the GOM should keep an eye on the "ghost" of Ivan. What is this all about? Anyone? They particularly named Texas and Louisiana to be on the watch in about 6 to 8 days. Someone please clear this up. :?:

Well, I was just wondering since that scenario didn't make a whole lot of sense to me. But then again, with this season the way that it has been, one never knows what to expect. Thanks for the reply.

 :break:

Ivan go :fishing: , you've done more than enough damage, killed more than enough people, and ensured there won't be another storm with your name in 2010...

I agree LAwxrgal, but I was just wondering if anyone else heard such a wild report on television like that. I certainly don't want it to come back to life, I was just wondering why they were saying that on tv.

Thanks Foladar. Didn't want everyone to think that I was just "hearing" things. What a wild report. Glad to know that I'm not losing the old mind just yet! :)

That would be so crazy...but then again, this season has been crazy so nothing would surprise me

This scenario is a little TOO farfetched, however. :break:

someone needs to give those floridians a day or two to breathe! it won't be affecting land , if at ALL, until sometime late next week...let some people take a break, actually get some sleep, and then let them concentrate on a new storm...sounds like people riding the wave of FEAR.

I twould be ironic if it made landfall in Florida, crossed over and made landfall again in the Panhandle.

Local Met CH11 said the same thing. Seems to think a portion of Ivan will pinch off and form a low in the GOM near TX/LA...Latest UKMET 144hr seems to think so too. I had thought Ivan had exited the NE by now. I dont know seems way way out there to say the least...

Both the UKMET and Canadian bring a piece of Ivan southward into the Gulf. The UKMET even develops a surface low that aims at Texas. Normally I would ignore such a thing, but this has been such a crazy tropical season.....

Actually that would be the first panhandle landfall. Ivan actually made "landfall" in Alabama.

This makes no sense! Did a portion of it break off from the original storm or something? (B/c I thought Ivan had already moved through the NE) :?:

WV imagery indicates absolutely NO boundary layer moisture to work with ... dry air all around the puppy ...
